Easter Boutique 2016

Southard House has a beautiful gift boutique inside our local antique mall, Broadway Antiques and Uniques, located at 129 E. Broadway in downtown Enid, OK.  I have been busy the past few weeks removing all of the Valentine decor and gift items and replacing it with beautiful Easter items.
I have many items from the Dee Foust Harvey collection, like this beautiful white rabbit with a top hat and a cone full of flowers.  She would look great in your home for spring or Easter!  I did make the beautiful pink Easter egg carton below Miss Bunny and it would be so cute filled with pretty Easter treats!
This Easter tree is decorated with pretty Easter ornaments.  Some of them were hand made by me and some of them were purchased, but all of them are available for you to own and give to friends and family,
Most of these ornaments would make great gift tags and they would be so cute tucked in to a special Easter basket!
So many pretty Easter home decor and gift items are available in the boutique!
I made these cute Easter baskets and decorated eggs just for you!
Some of my favorite creations were these beautiful paper mache' eggs.  They were painted, sugared, and decorated with lace, ribbon, paper flowers, hand made butterflies, and a cute Easter pick for the top.  This pink egg is my favorite and I made a few others like it just for myself!
The ivory jumbo egg is just a beautiful and it is still available for purchase!
I love these precious angels on eggs.  They have a party hat and hold a pretty pink egg with roses. They would be sweet in a little girl's room or on your Easter mantle!
Fill these cute Easter baskets with sweet little treats to surprise a friend or co-worker for Easter!
I had so much fun making these sweet "chocolate bunnies" from felt.  These bunnies will never spoil or get old and can be reused every year for Easter decorating.  They would make a great gift for someone that cannot eat sweets or chocolate!  These bunnies are "white chocolate" and were decorated with pink, aqua, or purple ribbon and paper flowers.
These are "milk chocolate" bunnies and there are "dark chocolate" bunnies available as well.  They are a darker brown color. They all have a chocolate bunny gift tag and are available for purchase.
This pretty egg hanger would look great hanging on your front door for Easter!  It is covered in pink floral scrapbook paper and decorated with fabric flowers, ribbon, lace, paper rosette, and a paper chocolate bunny.  It says "Easter Greetings" to welcome your guests to your home.
"Dark chocolate" bunnies, a lavender jumbo egg, and several vintage Easter image sachets are also available in the boutique!
I made five beautiful Easter egg cartons for the boutique this year.  They are painted with pretty pastel colors and decorated with ruffled fabric trim, fabric and paper flowers, a vintage image, pearls, hand-made butterflies, and ribbon.
Each of the cartons in decorated on the inside with a coordinating vintage image and ribbon as well.

This blue egg carton is my favorite of all that I created.  I hope some lucky person will be blessed with it soon!
There are many other lovely gift and home decor items available in the boutique at all times, including Southard House tea cups/coffee mugs, lavender bath salts, lavender linen spray, Southard House cookbooks, assorted fragrant olive oil soaps, microwave heat/cold packs, and lavender sachets.  If you are in the Enid, OK area please check out the boutique at Broadway Antiques and Uniques.  If you are not in the area and you are interested in purchasing any of these items, please email Tammy at stay@southardhouse.com with questions and requests.

Valentine Birthday Decorations 2016

Birthday celebrations are always very special at Southard House!  Each party is customized for the birthday boy/girl with their choice of theme and colors for decorations. I make decorations especially for each party and many of decorations are taken home as gifts.

I made this beautiful birthday cake for a Valentine-theme birthday celebration at Southard House.
I made this birthday hat from scrapbook paper and decorated it with tissue paper trim, paper roses, curling ribbon, and a Happy Birthday banner across the front.
I had so much fun making these cute decorations!  This hat is trimmed with red tinsel garland, paper roses, and glittery red hearts.
I made this birth day cake to match the hat above and used different shades of pink paper, pink tinsel trim, fabric rose trim, and ribbon to decorate it.  I fashioned a mini paper horn and a mini birthday present that I made from clay and ribbon for the top of the cake.  I made a "celebrate" banner with a rubber stamp, white cardstock, and glitter to add to the top of the cake.

The tablescape looked beautiful and very festive for this Valentine-themed birthday party!

"Showered With Love" Baby Shower

On Saturday, February 6th we hosted a beautiful baby shower for mommy-to-be Jamie Sparks and her baby girl Caiya.  I used a red, white, and pink color scheme and a "Showered with Love" theme for this sweet shower.  It was a surprise for Jamie and she loved the decorations when she saw them!

I used some cute children's rubber rain boots and painted them pink.  I added ribbon and filled them with pink and red roses.
I used a lace umbrella and made raindrops from white cardstock and added red hearts and pink buttons.  I attached the raindrops to the umbrella.  I also made several paper signs as decorations.
I love the baby carriage and the umbrella picks I made for the flower arrangements.  They were my favorite decoration I made for this shower.
I always make a decorative initial for each mommy-to-be to take home and put in the nursery. Caiya's letter was covered in red and white polka dot paper with pink ribbon and red roses.  It matched the tablescape perfectly!
The mommy-to-be was "showered with love" at her shower!
Here is another umbrella pick that I made for a flower arrangement.  This one is my favorite!
The hostesses brought so much wonderful food for their guests.  The enitre table was covered with tasty treats!
A beautiful pink cake was made in honor of baby Caiya and it was topped with a beautiful golden "C" that will be used as a keepsake after the shower.
This was a great shower and everyone that attended enjoyed themselves.  We were blessed to host Jamie and all of her friends and family for this special ocassion.

Allison Sherrell Pink and Gold Baby Shower

On Sunday, January 31st Southard House hosted a beautiful baby shower for mommy-to-be Allison Sherrell and baby Hadlee.  Allison requested a pink and gold color scheme for her shower.
my favorite showers to decorate for are girly showers with lots of pink.  I had so much fun decorating for this shower.
I decorated a cardboard "H" with various colors of pink roses and suspended it in a gold frame to use as the centerpiece for the food table.
This beautiful cake was covered with pink and gold roses.  It was vanilla with strawberry filling.  It tasted as wonderful as it looked and it was created by Shelby Bodelle.

I gave this train case a makeover and filled it with lots of sweet baby items including an antique baby doll, baby shoes, and a vintage glass baby bottle I decorated with lace and a crystal brooch.

I decorated the drink table with baby blocks I made from cardboard boxes, a pink teddy bear, a pink candle, and lots of pink roses.  I served a delicious pink lemonade punch and ice tea for beverages.
Hostesses brought chocolate-covered strawberries, wafer cookies, chocolate-covered pretzels, and the beautiful rose cake for refreshments.

Hostess Brittany Ashcraft made Allison a beautiful baby belly sash from lace and various pretty flowers.  It was so beautiful with her orchid dress.
Thank you Allison for choosing Southard House for your shower.  May you be blessed as you raise baby Hadlee!

Jantzen Winter Baby Shower

On Saturday, January 30th Southard House hosted a sweet little baby boy shower for Estela and Riley Jantzen.  They requested a "Baby it's Cold Outside" theme with white, baby blue, and gray for their color scheme.  I was very excited to make some beautiful decorations and use my winter decor items to create a beautiful shower for this dear couple.
This fun winter theme lent itself well to lots of snowflakes, snowballs, mittens, and scarves. I had lots of these items stored away with Christmas decorations so I was glad to put them to good use!
I made a really cute banner to hang on the cute baby crib I used as the centerpiece for the food table.  I used the colors they requested to spell OWEN - the baby's name.
I filled a cute train case that I recovered with lots of cute baby items and added snowflakes to go with the theme. I love the sweet wooden block that says "You are Loved".  So cute!
Isn't the cup of  "cocoa" the cutest thing?  I made an insert from clay and made little clay marshmallows for the top and inserted the whole thing in this sweet blue teacup.  What is better on a cold winter day than a hot cup of cocoa with marshmallows?  I also made a few really cute tags that say "Baby it's Cold Outside". I had a rubber stamp that came in handy for these cute tags.
I made little baby mittens from white felt and cute blue ribbon.  They turned out so nicely and were a great addition to the decor for the table.
The snowflake pick in the flower vase gave the arrangement a sweet, wintery look.

Hostesses brought chicken nuggets, chicken salad sandwiches, fruit salad, chips, and a sheet cake with white and blue frosting.  The food smelled wonderful, especially the buttercreme frosting on the cake!
The drink table got some decoration as well.  I purchased a mirror on a stand and I painted it with chalk board paint to create a chalkboard. I wrote "Welcome Baby Owen" on the chalkboard and I used a scarf, snowflakes, and glittery winter cone trees to decorate the drink table.  I made a wonderful blue shower punch and ice tea to serve as beverages.
Riley and Stela had a nice shower with lots of family members attending to celebrate and congratulate them on the arrival of baby Owen.  Thank you Riley, Estela, Yolanda, and Cristina for choosing Southard House to host your baby shower.  May you be blessed as you raise baby Owen!
